New Trans not enough H.P?

New to the forum and wanted to say hi from Dayton, Texas. Just had my auto trans rebuilt using suncoast parts and new Suncoast torque converter. Truck lags out of the hole seems like it is starting out in 2nd gear. Trans shops says not enough horsepower for the torque converter? If this is so I was wondering what would be a good addition to what I am currently running to resolve the problem I was considering swapping the jammer stg4 for coaltrain injectors 200hp but was concerned that the stock turbo wouldn't run them, any ideas?
 
Does it feel like it shifts through 4 gears? It's gonna feel laggier due to the tighter converter not allowing the motor to rev as high before taking off.
 
I need to get the motor to rev to approx 2k to ge the truck moving but then it drives great better thatn it ever has before, quicker harder shifts and seems to go through all of the gears just fine.
 
If your having to rev the tranny to 2k to get it to move then your in limp mode. You need to take it back to your tranny guy or find a new one and tell them it's in limp mode and needs to be fixed. Driving in limp mode can destroy a trans in quick order.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and use this for general terms. Your converter is probably around a 1600-1800 stall speed. If you were to add more power then the stall would actually increase.
 
Pull it down in manual first and try it. Count the shifts as you manually shift it and see if it is starting in 2nd or not. 2000 rpm to MOVE the truck is way high IMO, even starting in 2nd.
 
It's either in limp mode or you got a bad converter.
Like they said though...count the shifts. You should feel 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 followed by the converter locking.
 
I tried it in manual and it still seems to be starting out in 2nd. It starts moving before 2 grand but it is very sluggish until then. Once it gets going though it seems fine.
 
Who runs a Aurora 5000 on a commonrail?

Just lookin for street and competition trucks running a A5K. What kind of power and manors should i expect. It will be a 2nd gen setup in my 03.:charger:
