Good morning gentlemen, and possibly ladies??? Looking to pick up my first diesel very soon. I'm selling my little miata, and looking into a first diesel pickup. I've had three gmc 1500 sierras and I am now driving a 2009 gmc 2500 hd ext. cab. 4x4. Its beatiful and will be my sunday truck. I need a daily driver, which will get better mileage(not difficult to do) and eventually make some serious power. Any hints on a direction/ brand would be helpful. Looking to keep it under $10,000 to start, so I can afford some modest mods. Thanks guys! Looking forward to a new toy and some good coversations.

My pick would be a 2nd gen dodge with a manual trans, could probly pick up a nice one for 7-8 k, then do 1,500 in performance and a good clutch 1,000 and your ready to go. 19-21 mpg
