Nissan 720 pickup SD22 swap to newer chassis

Hi, I have a 1982 Datsun 720 pickup with the SD22 diesel engine and want to swap to newer chassis. The 720 line stopped in 1986 and was superseded by the "hardbody" line. I wonder if I can easily swap my SD22 into a hardbody? Or am I restricted to the 720 line.

with a torch, welder, and some steel along with some creativity anything is possible.

I don't think there was very much of a difference in the drivetrains between the two. Is it 2 wheel drive?
