I'm thinking about nitrous for my truck. turbo is going to be an ED s465/74/.90 nongated right now its a 64/74/.90. 2nd it makes about 20psi with boost not coming on until 2400ish rpm (3600 redline). 3rd it makes about 30 psi, 4th and 5th boost comes on a little sooner and makes 40-45 psi. This was w/ the edge comp defueling at 2700, i just put an adr on it, havent driven yet.

I'm looking at running a single stage shot (linear, no progressive controller) starting with a 25 shot to see how it goes, can always go bigger if needed.

I was thinking of the system coming on at 10psi. I can do it on between 10 and 25 psi to keep the bottle lasting longer or just run from 10psi and shut off when it drops below 10psi.

Any ideas or advise?

Im runnin mine off a push button to spool mine. And im runnin a 50hp jet....:nos:

when are you pushing it? Low boost WOT, or after the turbo is lit?

i forgot to mention i would also have it on a WOT switch, dont want it spraying if im not in it all the way.

I use the boost reference progressive controller.. I have it set to start spraying at 2 lbs of boost (3%) and then have it start to ramp up after 20#'s of boost

I ran a GT4294R on my 12v, with the tight TC, I had to turn on an .050 jet at 1500RPM, and leave it on until I left the line...it didn't like to spool on my truck!

Did it with a .050 jet. It's much cheaper to get the correct stall converter and leave the spray for the big end.

Probably right...both would probably be the most fun...loose converter for spool, nitrous at the big end:D

Problem is, the loose converter sucks for daily driving. I can't get mine to spool up well off the line and thought about both options. I'll just have to settle for slower time and less breakage.(not really a bad thing).

The other problem with a loose convertor is (especially on a CR) that we have such a limited RPM. So if you lose too much with a loose convertor, you will cause issues too..

what i did was spool my turbo at the line 10 to 15 lbs.then sprayed a .065 jet all the way down.

.52 jet rigged to the horn button. Bring it up to max stall and hit it right when the third yellow lights up.

my truck is a manual. I love driving a manual on the street, dont want to swap back to an auto.... yet....

Arming switch & 2 Hobbs stages with momentary purge next to lockout switch in dash.

On our twinned drag truck, a small stage with ~90 pill cracks off a Hobbs switch set to ~6psi (lights to 15psi on the tree)... larger 2nd stage with ~120 pill & Hobbs under 18psi hits during the 60' and tends to break traction on all 4 corners.

Still doesn't clean up the smoke much 'til the 330', but sure helps tree consistency with the tight stall - and the tranny rocks at half-track!
Decided to trade stall speed for street manners & durability - satisfied so far, though I'll always enjoy a stick the most.

More/larger pills (& solenoids if req'd) planned for the off season.

xlr8r is right get some hobbs switchs. You can get them all the way down to 4 psi which is what I ran when I had a stick. But you have to be able to shift very quickly if you set it that low, rpm and boost are almost instantaneous when it comes on.

i have a few hobbs switches, 0-25 psi i think they are. what size jets were you running.

i really am thinking a single stage, very small jet on at 10psi. what size jets were you running?

I found a .052 jet to be the best for spooling with out fear of hurting the charger due to no external gate. It lights my 66mm instantly.

Not sure what it equates to but i've been told it is around 50-75. I've tried from a .038 to .088 jet and found that the .052 spooled the best with out making to much rattling from the engine lol. It also depends on what you have for fueling if you spray to much it will snuff the motor out. Doesn't seem to hurt anything but is kind of embarrassing going down the track.
