No 1st or OD

Going down highway today, and it downshifted out of OD. I slowed to a stop, and tried manually shifting through the gears to realize all I had was 2nd and 3rd. No 1st, OD, or lockup. So I shut the truck off and restarted, everything works now. No codes either.

What could cause this?

I have had the speed sensor give me all kinds of wierd problems like this. Try it first, its cheap and easy to change.

I didn't know limp mode killed 1st too.

If the speedo was still working correctly, could it still be the sensor?

my money is on gov press sensor...
It and the solenoid are 100 bucks or so.. Upgraded units are more.. I noticed mine went into limp mode when I had a lockup switch in circuit, remove it and its good, replace them and no problems since

The speed sensor im talking about is in the OD housing, it has nothing to do with the speedometer.

my money is on gov press sensor...

I've replaced those a couple times already lol. I hate them.
