hey now I have a question regarding boost... Im in the process of putting homebuilt stacks on my truck and for the past month or more ive been rolling around with the exhaust cut off before the first muffler in preperation for the stacks and today I got some parts for my stacks and put on the 90* to the bed and the T in the bed and I went out to get dinner and i step on it and I notice my boost stops at about 11 or 12 psi. now this worries me could I have a boost leak all of a sudden, i had full boost this morning but now after the 90 i have nothing? also could a clogged fuel filter prevent boost at all cause of no fuel possibly I have a filter but havent had the chance to do it yet. sorry for all these newb questions this is my first diesel and am eager to learn this kind of stuff.

Well I had that problem too with my truck, I hooked up my superchips to read the codes and it came up with 603 or 613. Well it said injection pump timing failure. It would hit bout 12 pis then wouldn't go any farther. I just cleared the code then it ran great but a week later the injection pump finally went out.

check all four of your intercooler boots, if you can't see a rip, then pressurize your system at the turbo and look for leaks, if you don't have a leak then you have a fueling problem.

It should be related at all to your exhaust system.

could a clogged fuel filter cause this problem with the lack of fuel??

I will definitely check the codes with a reader on monday when I get back to work. thanks for the help so far keep em coming

A clogged filter can cause the problem since fuel and boost are dependent on each other. Change the filter out, which takes 10 minutes, and try it again.
