Light doesnt come on in the dash.

All vacuum lines are good.
Just put on a new servo deal under the battery.

I've seen old threads on the dtr to check for broken wires in the steering column and check switch behind the brake pedal by trying to pull back the brake with the top of my foot when driving.

Any suggestions?

Steering wheel wires are called a clock spring, if the horn works they are fine. Check the brake switch.

My 01 had a broken wire on the bottom side of the column, from someone using the tilt nonstop.
If the light isnt coming on its probably not the brake switch.

speedo and tach works. hown blows. i thought i read that 98 doesnt have a clock spring or something, that it was a 24v thing? i figured the light in the dash would still come on even if the brake switch was messed up. and the light does work, it comes on with the key forward. im gonna check for the switch when my wife gets home with it from work in a little bit

Any vehicle with a horn on the wheel has a clock spring (almost) yours has one.

I'm not sure how the switch is on those trucks, some cars have a separate circuit from the brakes to the CC.

good chance the switch is bad on the wheel if you already changed the servo and checked the fuse.

Which fuse is it? Don't see anything on the panels. But I did check every fuse with a test light. Also tried the brake thing and that did nothing.

If all of the fuses tested good you have it covered. Make sure the linkage from the servo to the throttle is adjusted and hooked up correctly.

how do i access the switch on the sterring wheel?

Scott! All ya gotta do is look at the backside and you will see how it comes out. Make sure you remove the battery negs and drain the system before doing R&R on the clockspring. If it needs a clockspring anyways.

Dorman part number is 525-103

Hey, scott if you figure it out would you let me know ive got the same problem.

Thanks, Jared

Scott look in the center console out of the race truck I had to replace the cruise switch on it and that solved the no cruise issue it had I believe the old switch and box it came in from mopar is still in the console atleast you will have a part number it was fairly cheap like $60 I believe.

no. and i had to get a throttle libkages yesterday at the dodge house and the guy told me the clock spring is like 200+ so if its that ill do with out for a while

If you have a wiring diagram, check to see if you are getting a signal to the PCM from the button on the wheel. No signal, bad clockspring.
