Last week my dash lights and parking lights quit working. Headlights, brake lights, blinkers work fine.
It is a fuse under the hood that is blown. However, it is shorted somewhere as it just blows a new fuse immediately when installed.
I first suspected the dimmer switch so I swapped it with my other 01, no dice.
I then removed every bulb on this truck checking for one shorted out. Replaced a couple that were burnt out. But no dice.
Thinking it could possibly be the 12V connection to the radio shorted out I pulled the CD player/radio out (PO installed an aftermarket one) and found a few extra wires with the insulation stripped off that weren't used. Thinking one may have fallen up against the dash framework and shorted it out, I cut and taped them up. No dice.
Next I disconnected the main wiring harness behind the drivers side front wheel that feeds the rear of the truck, but no dice. Still blows the fuse.
I have run out of dice and out of fuses. Any ideas?
