strap in for what is probably too long of a story with too few high points.
first off, i own/ed a 99 regular cab 4wd 5sp (check avatar minus lift and big tires) no solid motor work....edge juice/attitude...jammer nozzles (second hand, so i'm not sure whether they're 75 or 100 horse), afi intake... detroit locker... 4.10's front and rear... BD 150 GPH pump.... basically a stock truck with a couple of bolt ons... mostly to make the thing run ok with the lift that used to be on it.
that's what is done to it... here's what is/was wrong with it.
241 dld is junk. probably would be best to just replace it... i have put several hundred in it in the past. the 4500 has lost it's 3rd gear synchro recently... the exeter ring on the rear diff is bad.... abs light and whatnot comes on around 60 mph... result of the original diff blowing apart.... clutch would get redone if i was rebuilding the truck myself... personal opinion, more than necessity, but it isn't far away from necessary.
here's why this is a question for you guys.
i'm leaving for a year for australia on the 12th. i can't see letting the truck sit and rot for another year. not that it's rotted so far. it's a clean body, with a very good running motor. (29? block) someone else that has the money for it could be driving it. this truck has been my baby for the last 4 years, i just haven't had the money to maintain it properly as it has done all of this to me in the last year... It's already sold, but now reanalyzing the sale. i just want your guys' opinions about what it may or may not be worth the way it sits. I'm not going to be insulted, and i'm not going to comment. i just want opinions. BTW...i don't pretend to be an expert...therefore, if i'm wrong about something tell me.
if you fellas can let me know whether or not i screwed up i will certainly appreciate it.
