I need some help but I'm not too familiar with these trucks. A friend of ours has a '99 2500 auto and it just cranks but doesn't start. He put fuel in it one day and when he went to start it it wouldn't start. He did have what I think was dead pedal before this happened and it would put out white smoke from time to time. So far Ive changed out the lp, crank sensor, and apps. I don't think its the vp because when he sprays either into and it catches the oil psi and tach won't register while its halfway running off the stuff. Yes I know ether is bad for it but it wasn't my idea. He's thinking an ecm and I'm kind of leaning towards that because I think the oil and tach should register while its spinning over on its own. I'm out of ideas, any input would be much appreciated.

When you say catches do you mean runs of either? Mine did the same with my 12v . I got jelled/****ty fuel and it destroyed the pump and injectors.

No codes. I did have trouble getting the scanner to communicate but I finally got it go after a few tries. The fuel is good because he siphoned it out and ran it in another truck. When I say catches I mean its running off the stuff for about 3 seconds.

If you continuously spray it will it run? If so sounds like you arnt getting fuel

I hot wired the lp so I have fuel to the ip but from there I have nothing. What controls power to the vp?

That's weird, I have the same problem almost to the T. I just put the new Edge CTS on and it can't read any connection through the obi port. I have tried all of the relays and all the fuses as well. Lift pump seems to work, but nothing after that as well. Hmmm!

Hmm.. I've 'shocked' my injection pump before with big injectors and snapping off the throttle and it almost seemed like it clear my lines out. Took like half a can of either to get it reprimed on the side of the road. Only happened twice, tho. Most likely the vp. The one I currently have has around 300k miles and I know its on its way out.
