Noisy Engine!

Alright i have 225,000 miles on my truck and just put a new injection pump and airdog150 in and the engine seems a bit noisy to me idling and cruising at 55-70, around 2000rpm, it made noise before i put th IP and LP in but u thought those would quiet it down but it didnt. could it be a rod knock or bad injectorsor my quad? Ive tryed a bunch of different tunes on the quad but it didnt make a difference. My buddy has he same truck wit 200,000 miles on it and it runs smooth at any rpm. He also has 150hp nozzles, bigger crossover tube and a 57 sheid turbo would that make it run a lot smoother and quieter? Thanks anything will help.

Is it valvetrain noise? Have you had the valves checked lately? After 200K miles they might need to be redone...
 
Could also be the pump has a little more timing than your old one as well.
 
Or did you get an HO pump instead of the SO pump? The HO's are noisier.
 
I did just check the valves and readjusted them all at 10 and 20. Im thinkin i was used to the old pump being worn out too? Im pretty sure its an SO pump. It runs fine just seems a little rough to me it might just be the new Ip and im not used to it running right?
 
If the noise gets worse then let us know but I'd chalk it up to a new pump functioning properly vs an old worn out pump.
 
I adjusted the valves twice now once at .010 and.020 and now its at .008 and .018 and it seems to be a little quieter. still has a random tick or knock im not sure. its doesnt do it at high rpm just when u gradualy get up to speed when theres no load on the motor. Im thinkin its the Quads timing and or the new pump wat do u guys think?
