Hi new to this forum and I got a question. I gota fill out my sig but I got an 01 auto DTT and I want to do a swap.Ok I got an nv4500 this weekend. I got everything with it 241dhd t-case, crossmember, pedals, ect. Now I was wondering what I need to do about the computer because obviously its gonna set some codes not seeing the auto there. Just seeing if anyone has done this. Thanks,

Paul

Hi welcome, just did this on my 01 about 6 months ago and i didnt have to reflash the computer some say it will throw codes but mine didnt the only thing i dont have now is my cruise havnt figured that one out yet but i can deal with it for now.

What did you do about the harness? Jump neutral safety switch and also what about reverse lights? O and 1 more thing What kinda clutch?

I want to do a similar swap...thanks for asking th questions for me. LOL
Welcome to CompD BTW

Theres a 3 post plug on top of the 4500 should be a purple/white ,green/brown, and a black/white wires, same colors as on the three post conector that came on the auto snip the plug off the auto and splice the same color wires togather.Your black/white strip wire run it into your cab and ground it to the firewall the other two if i remember correctly are just your reverse lights.Pretty simple prosses. The plug on the rod that connects to your clutch pedal just leave it unpluged, I grounded mine the first time and it puts the truck into limp and wont rev past 2000 rpm.As far as the cluch I just got a button cluch from napa until I can get the bigger input and a dd this spring, its one step above stock but 60$ more it hasnt sliped yet just a cheep fix for now.

Oh and the main plug thats on the auto just zip tie it up out of the way not needed for anything on the 4500, would like to get my cruise workn if anyone wants to chime in with a fix???

Clutch Safety

I just slid up under my dash. I have the plug for the clutch safety swith in my harness it has a jumper wire across it.

Unless you ground the neutral safety all the time it wont pull up over 2000Rpms. The rest is straight forward. If you dont ground the neutral safety the computer cant read the speed sensors and puts truck in limp mode. I did it with my 01 Dually and did a write up on here I believe.
