NV4500 Conversion Question

So Ive looked around and used the search feature, but everything I look at just says you pop the shifter out and continue on to the next part of the swap. Problem is what do you set the shifter at? The reason I ask is that in park my steering wheel locks up but in nuetral I cant remove the key from the ignition lol, Before I go yanking on the steering wheel to try and break the lock when its in park is there anything else I can do?

um when the key is on the wheel shouldnt lock regardless of what gear its in. So youre saying when the key is on and its in park the wheel locks?

On mine as long as you leave it in the park position everything works fine. Like tractorguy said, as long is key is on you should be fine
