NV4500 Transmission in my 97 pulling truck is for sale. It has approx 220,xxx miles on it and was still my daily driver up till December of last year.

It has a short throw 98 & newer top cover on the trans that was installed along with the 1 & 3/8 input shaft and fresh Castol Syntorq in Nov '05 by myself & Aaron Ireton (Dodgeman01).

The 5th gear was replaced and upgraded retainer nuts (2) were installed by Hendrix Auto last April/May of '08. At that time it was switched from oem Castrol Syntorq to Amsoil.

Asking $1750 and trans is still currently in the truck, but I am not pulling anymore this year.

Looking for NV5600 replacement.

Stay with the 5 speed it is stronger, and if it does break you can just keep putting 2nd gears in it.

Zstroken, I need the 4th gear ratio to get the final drive I want. I'm not going to re-gear the axles.

Yes I need a "big shaft" NV5600 6spd

If you never jump to the high side you will probably be ok, but lots of main shafts have been broke in the nv5600.

Final Drives
NV4500 3.54 2nd Hi 10.76 3rd Low 16.02
NV5600 3.55 2nd Hi 11.82 4th Low 13.37

I only plan on using 4th low, the only exception would be if they are letting us run out 350ft plus which is extremely rare around here. MAYBE once a year?

Sorry not interested in the trans, just needing alittle help. I have a 97 and would lke to upgrade to the newer shifter. Any idea where I could find a 98+ top?

BUMP

Thanks Derek

No clue I bought this one in 2005. I had some help in tracking one down from a TDR member.

Would a moderator plz delete this thread where I can start a new one that hopefully won't be severly derailed.

my apologies, Derek

Does the bellhousing come with it? bcuz i wuld be interested in it bcuz im wanting to swap my auto to a manual.

Yes, bellhousing comes with the trans clutch-fork and shifter lever all included

Couple of questions:
- If you were to put this back into a daily driver would you do anything to it? I wouldn't want to put it in and have to pull it out a couple of months from now.
- Does a clutch come with it?

No you would not have to do anything for the trans to be a daily driver again, I could take suspension stops out of my pulling truck and drive it on the street if I wanted to. It would just be REALLY laggy with the S464.:hehe:

No a clutch does not come with it.

Sale pending. 1 & 3/8 shaft will be for sale separately.

Ignore that post, buyer may already be backing out on me. Won't know for a day "or two" in the mean time I have a trans to sell.

Willing to go $1600 for trans with big input, bellhousing, crossmember, clutch fork, and shifter arm. YOU PAY SHIPPING.

Willing to go $1400 for all of the above except I keep the 1 & 3/8 input and put the stock 1 & 1/4 input back in.
