NV4500 Rebuild

Well the 5th gear nut came off for the second time today so I'm guessing that its time for a new mainshaft. I figure since it has 270,000 on it that I might as well go through everything.

My question is who is making the strongest aftermarket parts for the NV4500? Best deals?

I was looking on quad4x4.com and found their Torque King® Gold Mainshaft Set and Master Overhaul Kit and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

NV4500 Transmission Kits

I plan on DD and medium towing with the truck for a long time so I want to fix it right but I also don't want to waste money.

I just did some searching and found standard transmission out of Texas. Their prices seem to be much less than quad4x4. Has anyone bought any of their rebuild kits? I'm looking at the "Texas Chili Dog" rebuild kit.

i tig welded my 5th gear on and never looked back. just put 2 little fusion welds on it and call it a day
