nv4500 slave cylinder upgrade

What is it that SBC, valair, and others do to beef up the slave cylinders for heavier plate load clutches. They do not appear to look much dif. than stock. Just wondering if its something I could do myself or not.

We use a stock 94-97 dodge system as our base unit, it is the heaviest unit available, we then change the line to a steel braided and make several adjustable rods for the different year models
