Isn't the speed sensor on there?

Nope,atleast mine wasnt pulled from an 97 and put in my 01 sensor was in the rearend the 3 prong plug on top of tranny is for your reverse lights ground center plug and other too are for reverse.

Yup just reverse light if you want them, go to the trans.

I believe it is on the right hand side of the transmission case, towards the rear.
