my output shaft seal on the trans keeps leaking, i have installed two seals and it keeps leaking between the tranny and transfer case (manual trans fluid) is there any fixes for this? like maybe a sleeve'n seal? or what?
 
Are you overfilling the case with fluid? The seals are not meant to have steady oil behind them.
 
I dont think so, were is the fill hole? or how much is full? I 'm pretty sure most people fill them 1 or 2 qts over! it's up to the middle bolt on the pto plate

I dont think thats anywheres near full. Theres a fill plug on the side of the trans case about halfway up. My 5600 has always had 1 extra quart since I've had the truck. As for the leak, I tried to find a parts schematic for the 5600 but couldnt find anything.:bang
 
yeah i thought it neaded more fluid too, but i just want to know why it keeps leakin soo bad?
 
Is it a leak or is it "seeping" fluid? A leak is leaving a puddles of fluid. Seeping doesn't do that, just looks wet. If it's actually leaking, you have problems, seeping is just kind of the normal thing.
 
it leaves drips everytime i park it about the size of your hand!
