I have an Early NV5600, this is my 3rd time pulling it out due to it grinding going into gear bad. I started out the 1st time replacing the synchro for 5th gear only cause I converted the trans from a small input to a big input. Then the next time, cause it wouldn't hardly go in to 5th, I replaced 5th, 6th, and reverse. Had to pull it again cause now not only would 5th not go in to gear, now 6th and reverse did the same.

Now the guy that is doing the work noticed with the new synchro's that they are to small, that they bottom out on the gear or hub itself instead of hitting and rubbing the outer (blocker) ring and slowing the gear down like it should. I need to know where I can find synchronizers for an early NV5600, cause the ones I have been getting are for the late model ones(01 and up).
Any info would be awesome.

pretty sure you can't get the early ones anymore. they were replaced by the newer updated ones. not sure what needs to be changed but what ever it is has to be updated to the newer style. i think if you get a fully rebuilt tranny they put the updates in them. not really any help just some info

I am begining to realize that they are going to have to be replaced. I heard that you have to get the newer style gears.

they don't make the early synchros any more when you update to the new style you have to change the gears the go into too $$$$. Whoever you bought the input from should have told you this.

allstate gear was pretty good to deal with you can change just gears and synchos you have a problem with and leave the rest stock I have done it in a couple and it seemed ok, also make sure you run the correct fluid or it tears up the synchos too.
