So i was having issues with my 3rd gear. Decided well i was upgrading my clutch i would go ahead and try the task of rebuilding my tranny. The quotes i got for having a shop do it were quite pricey so im glad i opted to do it myself. All in all it was really not hard at all. Simple hand tools, a 20 ton press and a cherry picker can easily aid in doing. it. Took me about 2 days and 600 bucks. Tranny got all new bearings, seals, syncros and a new 6th gear. Broke a tooth pressing it off the countershaft. I think anybody with a mechanical backround can tackle this thing and not have a problem. Really dont understand why everyone makes them seem so impossible to rebuild. Only real hard part was getting 5th and 6th gears off countershaft. They are splined on the shaft and a 20 ton press really barely got the first one off and then the other one broke a tooth. All state gear sells replacement parts very reasonable. I have not driven it since but i will post an update when i get my new clutch early next week. I did check though and every gear was there just spinning the input. Definitely worth the time and experience. Would not hesitate to do another one. If anyone has any questions would be more than welcome to answer what i can.
