Found an NV5600 for $600 that has lost 5th and 6th.

What would the most likey causes of that failure be and what is the $$$ to fix them?

Thanks

(also, anyone in the Austin/Taylor, TX area that is willing to pickup a trans for me. Please let me know.

:thankyou2:

probably bearing failure if i had to guess, what year is the tranny? i know the early ones had some issues with bearings. i think a guy up my way gets like 12-1500 to do a complete rebuild and he puts a 2 year 50000 mile warrenty on them, covers anything except shock loading. hopefully it didnt scar the main shaft in the trans, if its fine rebuilding it shoudnt be too bad, that shaft is salty. if its not a 4wd trans you'll be changing it anyway. hope this helps.

I wonder since it lost 2 gears in order if it didnt screw up the counter shaft?

Its from an 01 4x4

Is reverse ok?
A friend of mine out here 'lost' 5, 6, and reverse. Part of the synchro broke and would not allow him to shift into any of those gears on the far side of the pattern.

i might be looking into this as well ive done everthing with mine pressure plate is fine bought upgraded hydros and it is very hard to push into gear it started doin it in fifth and reverse and now in every gear i know they are expensive to rebuild its gonna hurt my wallet unless theres something else wrong

So, nobody has had that exact problem?

I was thinking a busted gear set, not sure if it would be the counter shaft or what.

I lost 6th in mine earlier this year. Got it replaced under warranty thankfully. I was told the countershaft was broke(along with the bearings) and 6th gear didn't have teeth anymore.:kick:
