nv5600 to 68RFE swap

Anyone know if swapping a new 68RFE into an 03 manual would work? I was thinking it would be best to use a PCS stand alone trans control box, trans cooler and lines, throttle positoon sensor, and a locar floor shifter. What else would I need, or would it be worth it? Would a 48RE be a better idea?

If your going to put any major power to it I would go 48. If its the 6 speed and power you want, you would almost be better off doing an Allison conversion. I LOVE my 68 but I'm only throwing 435hp at it. It does fine with that. The problem with trying to upgrade is that there isn't much room for extra clutches. Yes they are single sided clutches but.... Give the big Trans company's some more time with higher HP 6.7's till they really come up bullet proof 68's.

Yah it would need to handle 650+ hp. I wasnt sure about the upgrade parts for 68. I was thinking that if i was to do the swap i might check into swapping the new six speed just to see if i could.
