nv5600 what years? what tcase came behind them?

Looking at swapping a 5600 into my auto 2nd gen 24v. I Found a pretty good deal on the trans and tcase but the guy says its from 03-08 truck and has the NV273 transfercase? is that even a real number or does he mean a 271 and not know what he has?

anyway to tell if its a nv5600 and what tcase by the vin? if so where should i look?

They were offered up thru early 05. I am pretty sure the NV273 is the electronic version of the NV271.

No way to tell by VIN, as the G56 was offered with the same VIN.

If it has the shifter you can ask where R is.

Mine is a 273 and it is the electronic version FYI. The 271 is the manual.

The dodge dealer said the 273 can't be converted to linkage by buying the 271 linkage. I don't know if it was true or not. I was looking into on the last 07 I had when all the electronics went crazy.
