hey guys I know this is the cummins section...but my questions seem more suited for the cummins crowd vs the VW crowd.....

I got my little 1.6 VW diesel up and running..it's a DD/track beast(I hope)
specs..
1.6TD
ARP studs
MLS gasket
stock Bosch VE pump head until this Wednesday..then it's getting 11mm pump head
intercooled
T3 ball bearing turbo .48 AR
ED 40mm gate
custom 1.5" ss tube header
port and polished head

so I'm having some issues spooling this big turbo...and the EGT's are climbing fast...
I'm kinda thinking some water injection might help?? or would I be better off doing a NX kit?

I know the NX probably is not gonna be ideal for DD...but DDing this car with the lag does not really bother me...I just wanna get the most out of it on the track and dyno..

suggestions?.. thoughts??...advice?

thanks for any help you can offer....

BTW i'm not 100% sure the 11mm pump head will help?? it seems to have LOTS of fuel as is....even when the turbo lites and blazes to 20psi it still smokes pretty heavy..

*nx*

Nitrous is without a doubt more effective from a performance standpoint. The only downside is the cost of the fluid itself, legal issues from having it on the street, various competition classes forbidding it, and the lack of duty cycle capability.
