A little clarification on Weston's specs for cutting the grooves would be appreciated. Both myself and Kevin (Morkable) have dropped our heads off at a shop to have them cut the rings. Kevin gave him specs of 120mm diameter, .039" wide cut, .029" deep. As it turns out, the bore spacing is 120mm, so if the diameter is the same, then the rings will overlap. I have a spare block that still has the crap from the old head gasket still on it. Eyeballing the fire ring diameter is about 110mm.

So, long story short, what is the ID and OD of the groove? The groove is roughly 1mm wide, so is the ID 109, 109.5, 110mm, or something else. Thanks.

I did my O-ring grooves in the middle of the gasket fire ring.

For mine, I had 2 dummy dowel sleeves that I put in the head dowel sleeve holes to hold my used gasket in the proper position, than I took the front dowel sleeve as a reference for my CNC program. After the program was completed, I did six 0.001'' grooves on the used gasket to confirm it was good. Every grooves were in the middle of their fire ring so, I did six 0.029'' groove in the head and it work fine for me so far !!! :rockwoot:

I done it this way cause now, I can use the same CNC program for a 12 valve head, I already done my friend's one and it work fine !!

I don't know if it make any difference but, I used a 0.020'' 12 valve head gasket on my 24 valve set up. My friend used a 0.020'' on is 12 valve to !

I hope that will help you !!! :Cheer:
