What a long drive but, worth it. It was a pretty good turn out. There were roughly 15 stock diesels there and 3 non stock. They only had 2 classes for the diesel trucks, stock turbo and non stock turbo. The venue is beautiful and I am sure this event will continue to grow. Great place, great people. Special thanks goes to the Steve and the guys at C BAR R automotive for coming through on the lug nuts for me, again they are a great group of guys. I hope more of us will make it out to Octane Fest 2010, you guys won't be disappointed!!!

Here is my pull :

Truck looks good! Definately a change from the flop @ Tulare. Looked like a good hard biting track too.
When's your next hook?

Joe

Yeah, of all the hooks to mess up that was the one I wish I didnt, the track bit great, the sled was light and I had my tranny set wrong and ran in 2nd gear with the converter unlocked,.....oops. I guess I can't complain since the 217.4 was good enough for first place but........

I am surely heading to Sonora, I would like to get to Ceres too but I have some equipment deadlines to meet that will probably prevent that. Did you end up making it to Hilmar?

Are you already making your plans for the Houston Nationals?

Houston Nationals??? I haven't heard of anyone pulling together a national event there.. yet... (for this yr..) There's some regional racing going on there.. (If there's going to be some pulling going on... we'd like to try to make the event..)

Houston Nats???? Those were held last year by DHRA but since they are no more I believe there is no national event in Houston. Besides, I would definately not have the money for that trip, it's almost 2K miles to Houston.

I didn't make it to Hilmar, probably not going to Ceres on Sunday or Sonora either. Next one is most likely Gustine on the 3rd.

Joe

Yeah, the word is that NHRDA is doing them this year. Their year schedule has the nationals set for October 16th I believe but there isn't a direct mention of sled pulling......yet.

Are you interested in bringing Big Red down to Temecula for a dyno day?

Not at all, it's not exactly dyno friendly with it being set-up strictly for pulling. I would if it was dual purpose rig like before but I have a hunch what the power is and I am happy with it.....thanks anyway.... will I see ya at Gustine?

Joe

Thanks for the Heads up.. we'll watch the schedule.. that date might big some bigger trucks, the weekend before 10-10 is the NADM event in Crandell.. (In the DFW area) maybe some will come for two weekends...

Nice hook.. btw...

Thanks JD,

Red,

Yeah I will be at Gustine, I got family there so it will be a dual purpose stop. Are you planning on coming down to Craigs pull August 29th?

You know, hind sight is 20 20...... I wish I would have went 12v. Damn Vp44.

Did you get your STS's? If not I have 2 of them that have only had one pull on them.

Shoot, if they are 33x12.5R16 then I would have taken them in a heart beat. I paid $180 ea. for the 33" STSs I got last weekend.

I will definately be at the AV fair pull on the 29th of Aug. That is the one I am really aiming to do good at since there is a purse. Pretty much the only pull I am for sure about cuz there is money involved.:)

Well, probably see ya @ Gustine on the 3rd.

Joe

Hahaha, dang! Yeah thats what size they are. Wish I would have messaged you after I saw you were looking for some.
