i have had this ticking noice for the longest time. it seems to be coming from the tank? its not an exhaust leak so i know thats out of the story. an slide under there an all i can find is my fuel line bouncing at the rythem of the tick..

Which fuel line? Most likely ur fuel pump. If it has hasK miles its probable worn out

I beleive had the same noise, I tightened all my exhaust clamps, battled myself all around for weeks. Asked at the truck repair when I was haveing some work done and was told, "that is the return fuel being pumped back into the tank"
As soon as he said that I realised the sound was an exact match.
I hope you are dealing with the same thing, cause it sure made me feel alot better.

Its the lift pump i would imagine. Sometimes they do that when they get some miles on them.

hmm okay. i got an airdog 150 that im gunna put on. (even though i dont need it) sure wont hurt though. yall recommend getting a fuel pressure gauge when putting on of these on?

Yes a gauge is a good idea, if you go to a 5" tip you will gain 5psi of fuel pressure

LOL:hehe::clap:

If its just a soft ticking noise, that would be the noise of the piston pump sucking out of the tank. If its a metallic tick, that would be your lift pump. Doesn't necessarily mean its dead though. Mine ticked like that at 1000-1200 rpm for the last three years. Still had good pressure. I had the IP off the truck, so it seemed like a good time to change it. No more metallic tick, but I still have the soft ticking noise from the tank.

I wouldn't put on an electric lift pump just to eliminate the soft ticking noise, when everything is functioning as it should.
