ok i was trying to help a friend of mine take the injection pump off his 12v. he had started the day before and i loaned him my pump gear puller. well he used the wrong thread of bolt and ended up stripping out the threads in one hole on the gear. wasnt a big deal but i bought a tap. started to tap the hole and had no real pressure on it and the tap broke down inside the hole.. any ideas how to get this out without pulling front cover and removing pump gear?? thanks

I wouldn't even try it without pulling the cover and taking the gear out. Having to pull the oil pan to remove broken pieces of a tap would be far more work anyway. If all of the pieces would even make it that far..

yeah.. was just hopin there was an easier way out but thats what i figured id have to do
