oil and turbo

my hx 35 kinda said poop yesterday on my home. So I swapped it back out for my old hy35. When i cranked it the truck ran pretty rought and and was rolling white smoke. I noticed a little oil on the bottom of the turbo where the tube come out, so i sealed that up and no more oil there. But it still blows a little white smoke, the more it idles and runs the less it smokes. Is this normal is it just burning off oil or do i really have a problem.
