I have a 98 12v and it has oil coming out of the exhaust pipe and lots of white smoke. I have put new injectors in it without a change. The truck starts fine and runs good other than white smoking like crazy and oil pretty much dripping from the exhaust. Any ideas of what the problem could be?

It may be your turbo if you pull it and see if you have oil in the manifold if you don't you may have to reseal your turbo.

i took my pryo out and started the truck and oil was coming out the hole. So i dont think it is the turbo since oil is in the manifold. So is there an easy way or what is the best way to check the valve seals?

Ok thanks for the info guys going to check it out after work and will post an update.

Ok pulled the valve covers and valve seals were all good. So i pulled the injectors again to do a compression test and cylinder 4 is shooting oil out the injector hole when you turn the motor over. It has 375 psi of compression any ideas on it now? Could it be the head gasket or maybe the oil ring on the piston?

Sorta sounds like a broken oil control ring. I wouldn't think its a head gasket cause oil will go from high to low pressure and there is no way 60psi of oil will get into a combustion chamber that is several thousand psi. Even with it shut of there is no pressure in either system so i doubt a head gasket is the cause.

List your modifications, also make sure those turbo seals are good. Its unlikely your pumping enough oil into the intake system to create oil in the exhaust manifold. At that point you would get a runaway condition which obviously you dont have.

Good luck

The truck is all stock except for a 4in exhaust. I have checkef the turbo a few times it looks fine. When I pulled the injectors for a compression test the number four cylinder was puffing oil out when I turned the motor over. I am leaning toward the oil control ring now. Any more suggestions on what else it could be?

Going to try and pull the head either tonight or tomorrow. Keep the suggestions coming and thanks for all the help so far.

Did you pull the head? Did you find any scratches in the cylinders?

havent pulled the head yet. I just got done changing valve seals and no change so gonna hopefully pull the head this weekend to check it out.

Ok guys pulled the head tonight and the head gaskets is definately blowed into cylinder 4. I am just glad to know its the head gasket

Oh and to answer Tate's question the cylinders and pistons look really good. The walls are all nice and smooth.
