Ok, I have oil in the tube going from my turbo to intercooler. I just got this turbo in October from Taylor, so I am really hoping its not a bad seal already. I just can't figure out where its coming from. Turbo is a 62/71/.7 BW

Are you sure it wasn't there before you put the new turbo on? You can pull the compressor cover and see if there is any oil in it. I'm sure Taylor will work with ya if need be.

I know the oil wasn't there before the swap. I made a brand new pipe since this BW has a 3rd gen cover. What can cause a seal to go bad? I always cool it below 400, day to day it barely sees 20lbs of boost. High oil pressure on this cold mornings? Sadly it has been barked once. I was gonna pull the cover whenever it decides to warm up cause tractors are filling the shop right now.

Well pulled compressor cover off. Oil everywhere in tube from turbo to intercooler. Picture is bottom of turbo. I am no expert but I would say its bad.....

Was the air filter dirty, that can cause the same problem?

Or a filter that doesnt flow enough cfm for ur charger!

But u would have to be building more boost than 20psi, for it to suck oil around the bearings!

I wondered about that. The vacuum gauge on my intake is always sucked down, no matter how I drive it. Maybe its causing a vacuum and pulling the oil through. Im not saying it never goes over 20. Average is 18-20 daily. I know it does go over 30 occasionally

Bad or Dirty air filter would do it. Mine always puked oil too when i blew a intercooler boot off too. Get a new filter clean everything up and see if it stops.

My 62 would do that as well if I blew a boot. Cleaned it and ran it. I never found oil in it unless I blew an IC boot.

I was told barking will cause oil to seep around a seal. Seems any sudden change in pressure can cause a bit of seepage.
