oil leak from chip?

I installed a ts 6 position chip
then on a recent road trip back from ocotillo wells
I started spewing oil
I was replacing it as I went along but I still lost 3-4 gallons out on the highway.
I did a roadside repair
and I found that I blew a o-ring on the high pressure oil pump.
no big deal but it was a P>I>T>A

any ways do you think this was some how caused by the chip

I climbed devils slide in the 140 mode 5 times, then some other rompin'
and I mostly ran the 75 setting except for a couple of passes
out on the highway whats the most economical setting:st:

No it didnt cause it. It just made it show up sooner than it would have.

The chip changes the duty cycle of the HPO system, so yes it did cause the problem but it would have happened anyways so its better that you've got it out of the way now. Another problem with a real hot tune is that the high pressure hoses will fail. They expand/contract every time the IPC pressure changes, and there are a finite number of cycles they can take before they fail. Ford even recommends changing them at a 5 year interval just to be safe.

I'm glad I read the whole post. All I read was "oil leak from chip?" and wondered how the hell the chip was leaking oil. I'm so dumb....:bang
