Oil Pressure Sensor diff between 2001 and 2002

Has anyone tried putting a 2001 oil pressure sensor on a 2002 truck? From what I know the 2002 is just basically a switch that either has pressure or does not. I'm wondering if you plugged the output of a 2001 sensor into the input wire of a 2001 if the ECM would read it and send the pressure on the CAN bus for Attitude or any other CAN device to read.

Any tried it?
