ok im puting an oil psi gauge in my 98........i already have a 0-100 mechanical gauge.....should i run that(oil in the cab) or buy an electric one($60). i dont like the idea of oil being in the cab......the truck is still daily driven.

electric, I have a mechanical one in my fully built neon and I've had to re-adjust it twice cuz it start to weep oil right above my radio

I have never had one leak. ever. and I havenever used an electric gauge. thread seal the pipe connections and run it.

i think im gonna say screw it and run it, only thing is if it leaks......it leaks on my radio....i have the gauges mounted where the vents used to be lol o well thats part of it lol

do you think plastic line or copper?

plastic line is fine but it kinks easy, to run it where it is copper would probably be best. if your too worried, put a sandwich bag around the gauge and zip tie it around the line, and if it leaks it will leak in the bag, after you run it for a while just check and make sure its not leaking. and if it is at least nothing will be damaged, but if you seal the threads and dont over tighten the compression fitting you should be fine anyway
