Well after installing my JVD box I had a few problems, but got it figured out, I thought. It was working great, lots of power, I rolled around a corner and hammered it. Took off like a rocket, then died. Truck wouldn't start back up. Pulled out the smarty and found a code, can't remember exactly but it was like injection pump pressure too high or something. I quick cleared it and it fired back up no problem. Haven't turned the box back on again. So is that a sign of a weak VP? Or is that box just wacko??

I'll give her the berries again and if it does it again I'll right down the code

Yeah bob is talking about something new for the smarty.

Limited my truck did pritty much the same thing the other day when my quad adr smoked itself. I pulled the box off and it started right up and no codes.

Well I cleared the code and it started. I flipped the box back on and floor mashed it again, hasn't done it again. Drove it with the JVD on and beat on it for a little while and it hasn't done it again, but it doesn't feel like the box is doing anything now, even tho the light comes on. Before if you were on the throttle and then turned the box on, you could feel it kick in, but not anymore. I just don't know anymore with this dang box. What else stacks good with the smarty??

Well the JVD started working again, then it killed the truck again. The code is P0254 Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve Current Too High. Whats that mean??? Think I'm gonna give up on this box and get a comp to stack.

Something in the box is not regulating the votage going to the fuel valve in the pump and it is not allowing the valve to opperate correctly.

You might try an ADR adjustablity is going to be amazing.

Is it still possible that my wiring is bad? I ran direct power to the fuse box but without using a fuse...the box seems to get rather warm...dunno but it was cheap, maybe ADR is the way to go but just don't know. Also I cut and then reconnected both wires that go to the injection pump, made it easier to feed through the firewall. Don't know if that screwed it up...I know with some gauges you can't do that or it won't work right.

Not sure about the wires. If they were signal wires intead of voltage then you might have a problem.

Did you cut the wire at the pump into. or just the wire for the box????

If the box is getting hot then one of the resistors might be burning up.

Yeah so cutting the wire for the box is no problem then, guess that thing is just messed.

Any more ideas? I really wish this thing would work. I pulled it on Friday and stood middle of class. If I had some fuel from this box I coulda done good. Damn it all...

Hey Limited... I was just sending you a message to see if you got the JVD up and running... Then I was lookin and saw all this thread... Sorry you were havin trouble with it, I am not sure if you got it up and running now or not???? When I ran it I had it stacked with an Edge Comp (hot/drag code) and it made my truck absolutely brutal... The box did get a little warm but it always worked fine ( even though I only would turn it on when I was gettin a little rowdy some nights) My truck only died one time with the JVD and Edge running but come to find out it really wasn't them that did it, it was a problem with my FASS 150gph system- which I got fixed and all was good again.. hope to hear how it turned out...

Oh and one more thing the first JVD I ever had roasted my injection pump but I didn't have a FASS and it was too aggressive for the truck... You might call HAISLEY MACHINE they had a big hand in the jvd box - see what they say- I think I included the # .... they really are good boxes I am surprised to see that it is doin this to your ride lemme know what ya find out
