Oklahoma City Dyno Day in May

Hello all,

I've talked to the owner of Alternative Motorsports here in Oklahoma City
and he has tentatively set a date of May 3rd. 2008 for a Dyno day. I already have 5 confirmed with 3 others as a maybes.

This will be the my first attempt at trying to throw one of these together so it will most likely end up as a informal get together and not a professional Dyno competition.

However if you have ideas that might help then please let me know.

i also invite anyone that would like to come watch or throw their truck on the dyno to come enjoy the event.

all proceeds will be paid to Alternative Motorsports.
Pricing should be around $45 for 3 pulls.

sounds like a good time but summer just starts and so does my job, but i would lke to make it if i could
 
dang count me out, if it was another time i would be in, but that is like the weekend right after TS, and that is right around finals time.
 
ED, you might post over on the DTR for the event, I think you are the only one not banned from that site, and post on the TDR too.

Chuck and I are suppose to go to Tulsa to the races on Sat the 26th of april.

No I don't have it together, I'm suppose to call the machine shop today.

i might be able to swing that, have to check the calendar and see if anything else is on that weekend.

I will be there and I think my dad in his 06 F350 will be there also.

I'm off that weekend - might be cool - I was curious if there were any dyno's in OKC... I'll post it up on other sites also!

also -- are the owners going to be able to dyno their own vehicle, or let staff do it?

waht kinda dyno is it? do they dyno diesels often?

just curious :)

The dyno is a 248C, Chuck will likely let you drive your truck but it is his call. he dynos a few diesel but the demand is not really there, I think the max number is around 1600 hp....gasser, with Twin T-88's.

hell, i'm nowhere near that -- jsut know when we went to Dallas, those guys usually let people drive their trucks, but woudl'nt once we got there...

how accurate do you guys feel this dyno is??
 
Ya, Jim, how good of a dyno is it? If I go and post up numbers is everyone gonna give me the "it is uncorrected, that dyno sucks, the difibulator valve wasn't calibrated" rash of crap? :hehe: I think I can make it but will have to confirm with the spousal unit. I have been compin' at the bit to get this truck on a set of rollers.

Can they handle duals or do we have to take them off? Can it handle the torque?

As far as I know the dyno is just fine, he has run is Dually on it will all 4's. The shop is not setup for trucks so it just smokes the shop out.

I've probably run 20 times on it and the numbers always seem legit.

Chuck and I have know each other for 8 years or so, Ed and I about 4.

:bang :bang :bang not going to be able to make it since the wifey will be out of town having fun without me and I gotta play daddy daycare. Ya Okies will just have to have fun without me... seams like this has been happening allot lately... :what: Have fun, and black out the sun for me!!! :Cheer:

Awesome. I think I'm in. Is there a sign up sheet or something or just show up and run 'em as we can? I can't wait to black out the shop! :hehe: At least if I throw a turbo it will shot out the roof and not into the crowd! :D

I'll try to make that one. I'm gonna be working in OKC every weekend in May but that one, and Memorial Day weekend, so I may have to hang around the house. But I'll plan to be there. And $45 is pretty cheap!

Wish I could make it but that is the weekend for the 4x4 Jamboree in town and a bunch of us are getting together for that.
