old ford conversion ?s

so here's what i got. its a 77 f150 4x4. i really want to put a cummins in it. i wouldn't do outrageous hp, maybe at most 300 because i've got a p-pumped 24v to dick around with. my question is have those who have done the swap put in heavier axles? thats what i'm debating is whether to wait and find a f350 or if the 150 axles would hold it.

imo you would be better off with a f350. just to be on the safe side. if you did get the f150 to stay together, there is no room for improvement.
