well last night i planned on putting my valve springs in my 24v. well the instructions says one end is bee-hived, and the retainer will fit tighter on one end...some of them the retainer did fit tighter and some they felt the same on both ends. How in the heck else do you tell which end is bee-hived? need info ASAP!!!!

There are some trucks that have slightly different castings on cylinder heads that has minor interference with the springs . To remedy this we changed the O.D. of the intake springs. When we did this it removed almost all of the room there was to do beehive. On the intake springs it does not matter which end is up. The intakes have a blue line on them to help you identify them.

On mine if you laid them on a flat surface or used a straight edge you could see one end was slightly smaller in diameter...
