I am in the market for a new turbo to replace my HX40 and know just the basics. I was looking for a turbo in the 62-66mm area for my daily driver/weekend sledpuller and occasional tow rig. I am familiar with the s300 turbos, but none of the Garrett turbos. They are ball-bearing and water cooled right? I even tossed around the idea of a 70-71mm turbo to still allow me to pull in the 2.8 classes. I found a Garrett GT4294 for sale for $1299 including:
1) GT4294 Garrett Turbo W 70mm inducer wheel w/ 94 Exducer on compressor side. Exhaust housing a/r is 1.15 and the exhaust flange is a T6 (1) Exhaust Flange 5" w/ V-Band
(1) 5" 90 DEG Exhaust Elbow for Fabricating a Down Pipe
(1) GT42 Compressor Discharge Flange 3.5" and V-Band for Fabricating intercooler pipe
(1) Air Flow Performance aluminum Dodge Cummins Intake Tube 4" to adapt to airbox or aFe Stage 1 or Custom Filter
(1) 5-4 Inch hose for adapted intake tube
(1) 5Inch Hose Clamp
(1) 4 Inch Hose Clamp
Does this sound like a a good deal and is this a good turbo? I've outgrown my HX40 and am looking to break 500rwhp. Also, would this turbo be daily driveable? Hopefully someone with with some experience with this turbo can help me out....
PS: I do realize it will need a T3-T6 adapter....
