this happened a few weeks ago but i came across 2 threads today which sounded just like what happened to me, me and a buddy were on our way to get something to eat and i dropped it in fourth to pass a line of cars that were going under the speed limit and i reached down and flipped on water meth and i dont quite remember if i first just shifted into fifth and let it go normal and then slow down or if i completely backed out of it when i hit the clutch and then tried to go in fifth but i looked down and had it died.

i know i turned off water meth at the same time i was going to fifth. so i coast into a dirt road with a whole slew of cuss words. and i crank on it and got nothin. then i let it sit waitin on this old man to bring me some wrenches to see if i had fuel after the vp. well after it had sit i was like how about one more try. i cranked on it and held the pedal down and it would climb to about 300 rpm and if i let off the starter itd sputter a little and die. so i was like one more try and then the rpms slowly climbed to idle and then it came to life and revved out like it should. so i slammed the hood down and took off and its been fine, but do you guys think i may have gotten air in the lines and that they are now fine or maybe i should do something extra to prevent burning something up?

When your fueling hard and you let out fast. It is possible to drain the lines. I was prewarned about this, but as many times as I have done it. I have never had this happen until monday. No box on your truck?

ya lol i forgot to add that in my sig, its got an edge juice with attitude

from what i read, you sucked the lines dry. i did that with my so vp all the time running big injectors and flow tubes. in the future carry a 19mm wrench with you so you can crack a line to get her going agian, lol

Just letting you know... holding the pedal down will not do anything until the truck actually cranks...... you airlocked the VP, we have all done it... sometimes they will crank back up, sometimes you have to bleed a couple of lines...... I would keep a 19mm with me at all times... put it in the glove box

Yup 19mm wrench is in my drivers side door pocket for just such occasions... Only happened to me once though, and it was when I didn't have my wrench with me.... First time down the drag track after putting new injectors in... talk about a sick feeling the first time it happens after an upgrade!

i held it down when it was sputtering finally at about 300 rpms and when holding it down itd actually make the rpms rise a little till it finally came back to life
