I've been trying to diagnose a overdrive/lockup issue for a local truck and i'm running out of ideas.

To start the truck has a full Billet Goerend and it came in because the transmission was engaging OD immediately after 3rd engages, the converter would not lockup unless we used the lockup switch or went WOT then the converter would lock, and it would slip at full power. After some line pressure testing it was clear there was a pump issue, so we did a complete rebuild, with a brand new pump, new valve body and installed all new VB electronics (Solenoid, Transducer, wiring harness, OD and Lockup Solenoid)

Get it back together and the pressure is good, holds power but the OD/Lockup issue is still there. We checked over every electrical collection and soldered/heat shrinked any tapped wires off the PCM, ran the TPS and PCM ground direct to the battery with no luck.

Yesterday I found the one positive battery cable was loose, and after tightening the cabe, the problem went away and everything worked perfect for 17miles then the problem came back. So now I'm at a loss of where to go from here, any ideas?

Just from my experiences, check the pass battery ground (seems to get pretty dirty due to it being so close to the oil filter)
Clean PCM connector with electrical cleaner.
And brown and black wire that runs behind the pass battery to the divers side battery.

Ill try taking the pass ground off the block and make sure its clean ...already independently grounded the brown/black wire and cleaned the pcm connections.

Any chance it could be a bad ecm?

Dont know...
Some will same a bad ecm will throw low voltage codes, but when mine sh!t on me it just sh!t.

Update...I started cleaning the female ports of the PCM pins and its working normal after 30 miles... I'mknow soon whether if its a connection issue or the PCM causing the intermittent problem.

I love transmission electrical gremlins. :nail: Hope you get it figured out Lavon.
