Overdrive Jumping

My 99 with a automatic does not want to stay in lockup in overdrive. once it gets into lockup it will jump back out and then go back in so on and so forth. i had it in to the company that built my trans last winter and he could no get it do do it and then the problem just disappeared and they said no to worry about it. now its back and seems to do it more. i have to lock in the converter with my switch so i can drive anywhere normally. any ideas?

Sounds like your apps sensor to me there's a good write up in the tech section

not saying you have the same problem i had on my 99 but unokug the wire in the back of the alternator and see if it still does it.

i tried new apps, traced grounds did noice filters and finally wrapped that wire that comes out the alternator with foil and electrical tape and it fixed it. saw it somewhere on dtr

If this is on your p pump truck I would just go with the pot mod. I never got my truck to work well with a 12v tps. I just use my tps when I'm
racing.
