My truck was just doing fine the other day with it shifting into overdrive but after I did some stuff to it, it won't anymore. I redid those 2 small ground cables on the passenger side battery and bolted them to the terminal until I get my new terminals today to change them out. I regrounded my PCM and TPS and I checked my TPS voltage and it was around .07? so I tried to retap the set screw since I somewhat stripped it out last time I adjusted it but I checked it after it turned when tried to remove it, the voltage was like .067 so thats good. I drove it around the block last night and it seemed fine but I went to drive it today and it shifts just fine but it won't go into overdrive. I put my relay for the transmission since I don't have the lockup switch wired up now and I can't think of anything that would of caused it to act up like this, I have another TPS to try but I can adjust it because o the screw being stripped out, anyone have any ideas?

whats the tv cable? the voltage checked out fine but I think it has something to do with it but I really cant adjust it since its stripped out

tv cable is located underneath the throtle cable id do some research on it you can pull the clip out and adjust the slack in the cable, if your truck is hanging in gear it could be that adjusting the cable will lengthen or shorten shifts, first id pull on it lightly and just feel that it has some tension likeit will return to its orginal setting, what was apps voltage?

i was speaking with karl mehiter (sp.) the apps is something i have to look into as well, do you have 3.54s in your truck

I have 4.10s, the TV cable seemed just fine, I think the voltage is in the righ range but not sure off hand

well I tried to adjust in and I got it down to like .64 but overdrive still doesnt work

Pull the APPS out of the housing (the actual black box) and look at the back of it it will tell you where your voltage needs to be to work.... Mine will not work unless its .53-.54

I cant reset it now since the adjustment screw is all messed up, tried drilling it out but its like hardened steel so i need to figure out how to drill it out them retap it, I had my last tps set not off the tag and it worked for a while, just replaced it because I thought it messed up but it wasnt after all

well I think a wire I grounded may of caused this whole ordeal after talking to Justin about it, test drive and it shifted into overdrive, will find out in my way to work in the morning

Are you sure its not going into OD, or maybe the TC is not locking in OD? Sounds dumb but I figured I'd throw it out there.

Well after chatting with Justin and telling him exactly what I did, I ended up grounding a wire on the PCM that shouldn't be grounded, I cut it and it works just fine now, glad it didn't mess anything up
