overhead trip computer (2001)

a buddy of mine got an over head trip computer for his truck that originally did not have one. does anyone know how on a 2001 these were wired in? or when the plug in to, or even if the truck that originally came wit outh them have the wiring for them? any halp is appreciated thatsnks guys
 
Don't quote me but I am pretty sure that if you pull down the headliner you may find some wiring stuffed away up in there.

Unless the truck your working on is a stripped down ST model it should have all wiring for all options that came in the trucks.
 
It should have the plugs behind the head liner and should work fine, the only thing is the temp. The truck will not have the wiring going to the grill and the prob to read the temp.
