On a 2000 that engine and transmission were just reinstalled, there is absolutely no start, and it throws a P1488, Auxiliary 5 Volt Supply Output Too Low Code. I can't find any information on what the probable causes would be.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with diagnosing any of these symptoms. Any help appreciated.

i got that code and a no start when the Comp data link pulg came undone, have you unhooked the aftermarket stuff and tried to start it then

there are no aftermarket electronics installed yet. keep the info coming!

Is that the only code? That is a 5v reference signal for the various sensors on the engine.

There was also a lift pump code... something isnt triggering the fass with the key on switch... so we just direct wired it. There was a tps code and two more that seemed irrelavent to the situation, i cant remember the numbers. The trucks wiring harness was a mess when it was bought and trying to get these gremlins worked out is a mess!

I am saying shorted wiring. Get the service manual out and start running down if you have 5V or not.

will do... we'll check the ECM tomorrow and if thats not the problem, well start chasing wires!

Definately sounds like a wiring problem, if you having alot of sensor codes, try to find a common wire or connection with them all. Like i said before, probably the wire for the 5 volt reference for a few sensors.
