How many of you guys have had the computers go bad for the regulator circuit on 12v's? Mine just did it at 320k. I did mine the hillbilly way and wired an external regulator up.
Is there anything that may have cause this is what I'm really after or did you guys just have a up and quit one day like me?

Mines only got 230k, havent had an issue except killing several alternators over the years.

mine did. i am battleing it now. mine is either in the charging circuit or the trans circuit. what were your symptoms? what did you leave unhooked when you went to an ext reg? i have an ext reg on order currently.

Yup, happened to me twice-once with the stock unit at 264K and a used one at 250xxx

My truck is a manual truck so all I have wrong is charging. I left the two small posts undone from the alternator, on of those needs a wire ran to the side post on the regulator. The top post on the regulator needs to have a battery lead ran to it, and also to the other undone post on the alternator.

Did any of that make sense? Lol

Haha. Not really. I guess i will when i ha e the reg in front if me. Mine has fried my pcm twice now. I am not chasing and dumping into a system where i dont k ow the exact prob ia.
