so I got speedhut to build me the first rail pressure gauge. I have the parameters on 0-5 volt. I have it hooked up I want some opinions on if i am getting the right readings. Idle says I have 9000 psi. In gear moves to 10000 psi. 50 mph od off it reads a steady 18000 psi. WOT with 51#s of boost holds steady 22000 psi. I am able to get it to reach 26000 psi depending on how the load and the speed im going. These numbers sound high to me w/ II dragon flies 100hp and smarty tnt lvl6 and the egde ez I thought I would be draining the fuel rail with a stock cp3. I have never heard the pop from a drained rail but still I thought I should be close. Anyways after its all ironed out I will post pics of the gauges and it will be another option for everyone as well to purchase. If the numbers are not right i will have to send the gauge back to change the parameters. thanks for any replies

every truck is going to be different. You need to install a known good rail pressure gauge, and do some very careful data logging if you want to end up with a good unit.

well I thought that since the factory sensor was 0/5 volt it should be pretty straight forward. I will be able to test it with a star scan at my buddies shop within the next month. I was just wondering if I was even close.

I agree the idle pressure seems high compared to mine and what I have seen others post. Mine will read between 6-7.5 depending on stack/pressure box setting, etc. The other readings could be correct although some of those seem a little high also. Seems I read that the sensor voltage normally were in the 0/4.5 range, but that could just be my imagination.

Yep, sounds pretty close, but check it against that starscan to find out for sure. Hopefully it will be more reliable than my gage was.

please let us know, I've got speedhuts already for bst, egt and fp, and would love to match and not have to go with the quad unit, i really prefer an analog but dont want to be mis-matched

I think those #s are too high - idle pressure is a good baseline regardless of aftermarket fueling.

You need to recalibrate your gauge.

Below are the sensor voltages/Pressures(x1000) 0-5v sensors read 0.5v = 0, 4.5v = Max

Volts 0.51- 0.78- 1.04- 1.31- 1.59- 1.84- 2.12- 2.37- 2.65- 2.90- 3.18- 3.43- 3.71- 3.98- 4.24- 4.51

Pressure 0- 1.7- 3.5- 5.2- 7.0- 8.7- 10.4- 12.2- 13.9- 15.7- 17.4- 19.1- 20.9- 22.6- 24.4- 26.1

thanks dock ya If I believed that the rp gauge now there wouldnt be much reason to upgrade cp3, but I know better than that I got a dragonslayer comming. Will I notice a seat of the pants difference when I install it?

0-.5 And 4.5-5.0volts Are For Fault Detection But That Is True For Any 5volt Sensor That Is Monitored.

Yeah you should if ya keep fuel to it.

Edit...Seen you have a FASS, should be good

Any news, I would like to order a speedhut gauge if all is worked out.

thanks,

we think it is still not reading correctly but havent ran the numbers yet...
