I was looking for a larger turbo and was wondering if a 62/65/14 phatshaft turbo would have quick spoolup.. anybody using this turbo?

They spool very quick and work well, I sell quite a few of them and everyone loves them!

okay i wasnt too sure because my truck doesnt have much fueling upgrades so i was gonna either go with that or the bd super b turbo

different ball game here but i had one on a 03 common rail with just a smarty and it ran good.

okay it think im gonna go ahead and get it! juss hopin to get a little better fuel economy with the larger ex housing

Please explain how you think a larger housing is going to get you better fuel economy?

I don't like mine... Probably an odd ball. But I don't... Nough said.

what do you have for fueling filling out your sig would help everyone with giving advice

if you have stock injectors the 62 wont spool real quick what do you do with the truck and how much power are you going to want down the road

rv 275 injectors, quadzilla xzt+ with mild tune, airdog 150.. i was looking for a turbo with quick spoolup so i think im gonna hold off and look for one with the 12cm housing

Well, I sure as hell liked it over the stock one! :poke:

Joking aside, if you don't have many fuel mods, don't get the 14cm housing. Towing with it was a bit laggy with stock cam and DDP100 sticks. Now, I would go with it if you run a different cam. Night and day spool up with a Hamilton 188/208 in my old 2002. If I had money running out my ass I always wanted to try a 63/68/13. It seemed to be the rave a while back. Maybe it has fadded out now.

Over stock I like it yes. Not really knocking it but its just not for me. I wanna do a 63... It will support where I wanna go and I wanna jump up in turbine size so it doesn't get so choked up on the top end. But after the first of the year Me and Chris have already layed out a plan for new injectors. I don't know what these ddp's equate to in actual size. I'm not 100% where I wanna go yet on size. I'm stuck between two different ones. Then we will play with chargers.

To the op, stick with the 65/12 for what you have right now in my opinion.

From what I've seen with the 62 phatshaft most liked it but some was expecting Alittle more out of them. Possibly a different cm housing would of been better for them? I was kicking around ideas for twins and was thinking of using the 62 or 64 in the mix. If you want quicker spool up a 12cm might better suit what your after.

well i picked up the 62 yesterday! hookin it up next weekend when the exhaust comes in so weill see how she goes!!

I ran a 62 SuperPhat Shaft with whats in my sig (DDP 150s) and it worked awesome. My truck was a street truck and used to haul 25k lbs all the time and I never had an issue. Would hit 1250* towing in 5th and not go any higher. And then....

Some JACK A$$ stole my truck while I was working..... Found 2 days later completly stripped.....

I bought a 62 and in less than a week i sold it and bought a 66. Just wasnt enough power.

It should spool quick and it should be good for about 400hp. I believe it should be great for a compound setup.

ive got no complaints with it.. juss in need of some more fuel to light it.. smarty time!!LOL
