Pinion seal?

Alright i need help. What way does the seal go in on a dana 80? Using the knife edge side as the refrence point. The metal of the seal is shaped like an s, so Does the knife edge side go in pointing to the hitch or does it go in pointing the knife edge to the front? I pulled the old one outa month ago and dont remember.

The way I think you are explaining it, the knife edge would go towards the front.

Not really, cant see the seal. Thing is every seal ive done in other thing i remember the knife edge of the stamped steel goes in pionting to the inside of what ever the seals goin into. I put mine in the 80 yesterday that way, and when making the nut tight the collar that you see in the pic on the yoke is against the seal and its not tightend all the way yet. The seal is all the way seated. I dont know if its in backward or if it the wrong on, cause my parts guy is a dumb___ .
