i think this is going to be a topic like asking for a cam card along with a cam for our diesels. you can order whatever you want as long as you dont need to know what it is. maybe calling and ordering a set or just one and then taking it and 5 other pistons to a machine shop would be a way to get some info. once you take a cam to a cam grinder and let him tell you the profile, you have it. same as a piston, once a cnc traces it you got it. i cant imagine a mahle piston from haisley or somewhere could get much more than 150 or 200 bucks. then you could take either 6 stock ones and have them matched and send the one you ordered back or use it along with whatever 5 others you have.
Im not trying to start a major r&d theft war between anyone, but to learn something you must know what it is that works and then try something that doesn't or vice versa, just like chevy and ford, honda and yamaha. you know what i mean, its not like the average person has the money to shell out 5 different bowl designs to know what works and what doesn't, the winter just isn't that long.
